Edith McCall Fountain's Obituary
Edith McCall Fountain passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at the age of 92. She forever will be remembered by her family.
She was born on June 18, 1925 in Plant City, Florida. She graduated from Plant City High School and for many years was a member of the Plant City United Methodist Church. She lived most of her adult life in Lakeland, Florida where she raised her four children with her husband Charlie O. Fountain Sr. who predeceased her in death. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Jeremy Woodard Fountain.
In her later years, she worked for the State of Florida in the social services department, retiring at the age of 78. She was an active member of the Highland Park Church of the Nazarene.
Her greatest joy was playing a wicked game of cards and taking trips with her friends and family. Her favorite vacation spot was Sanibel Island where she went every summer for several decades.
She is survived by her four children Kathy Fountain Robertson (Frank Robertson); Charlie Fountain (Tamara Fountain); Kim Fountain Mortimer (Chris Mortimer); and Clifford Fountain. Grandchildren: Grant Patterson (Hannah); Aaron Austin (Christian); Christopher Rhoden; Austen Rhoden (Danielle); Trey Rhoden; Tim Woodard Fountain. Great-grandchildren Adelyn and Parker Rhoden and Alaina Fountain.
A visitation will be held at 10 a.m. followed by a service at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 7 at the Highland Park Nazarene Church in Lakeland.
