Earl “Pappy” Gaskins
Lakeland – Earl “Pappy” Gaskins, 88, passed away January 4, 2025.
Mr. Gaskins was born in Nashville, Georgia on January 31, 1936, to the late Bullock and Lola Gaskins. He was a lineman and retired from the City of Lakeland as a Foreman. Prior to moving to Lakeland, Mr. Gaskins was a member of the First Baptist Church of Elizabethton. He enjoyed woodworking, traveling and spending time talking and fellowshipping with family and friends.
Mr. Gaskins is survived by his wife of 31 years, Phyllis Gaskins; children, Sandra K. (Jerry – Deceased) Berg, Linda S. (Rick) Golden, Peggy A. (Steve) Lannon and Donna M. Ray; sisters, Frandy Myers and Luvenia Vaughn; 10 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his step daughters, Ann and Joan; siblings, Joseph Eston Gaskins, Charles Gaskins, Wayne Gaskins and Earlene Tooke.
The family will receive friends and family on Friday, January 17th from 1-2 pm at Gentry Morrison Southside Chapel, 1727 Bartow Road, Lakeland, FL 33801, followed by a memorial service at 2 pm.
