E. JAMES "JIM"LINDSAY, 83
LAKELAND- E. James Lindsay, 83, died peacefully Thursday, May 8, 2014 due to complications of cancer.
Born Ellsworth James Lindsay September 16, 1930 the only child of Clare and Addah B. Lindsay in Hillsdale, Michigan. After graduating from Hillsdale HS, he served one year in the US Army before attending BGSU where he was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity on a 4 year athletic scholarship for basketball. While attending BGSU he met his wife of almost 52 years, the late Patricia Jane Kober Lindsay, they were married in August 1953 and made Bowling Green, Ohio their home. Jim enjoyed a career as an independent owner/ operator of his own carrier. He transported solvents all over the country with many stories to share about his travels.Jim and Jane retired full time in 1988 and in 1997, they moved permanently to Lakeland into their Silver Lakes Community where they volunteered and enjoyed their many friends. Jim leaves his son, David R. Lindsay of Toledo, Ohio and his daughter Gail Lindsay Lee (Thomas) of Poolesville, Maryland, grandchildren Lindsay Lee Van Fossen (Tim) of Riverview, Florida, Thomas Lee of Cleveland, Ohio, and Lauren Lee of Huntington, WV. He so loved his great grandchildren Reagan Jane and Lincoln James. Both Jim and Jane will be buried in Hillsdale, Michigan this summer.
In lieu of flowers, donations maybe give in Jim's name to Good Sheppard Hospice in Lakeland.
