E. Elaine Bowen's Obituary
Mrs. E. Elaine Bowen entered the presence of the Lord on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Life Care Center of Winter Haven. She was born March 15, 1941, to Josh and Ethel Alderman of Plant City, Florida.
Elaine married Vergil Bowen in October 1962, and they were married for 51 years before Vergil passed in 2013. Elaine was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She enjoyed baking, decorating cakes, sewing, quilting, and crochet. For many years, she sold cakes from her home and had a large clientele for a home-based “word of mouth” business.
In addition to her parents and husband, Elaine was also preceded in death by her siblings Leroy Alderman, Louise Balliet, Lloyd Alderman, Edward Alderman, Hubert Alderman, Robert Alderman, Helen Buti, Mildred Pearce, Donald Alderman, and Bruce Alderman.
Elaine is survived by her children, Katherine Little (Eric) and Paul Bowen (Tina), grandson Alex Bowen, and granddaughter Ava Little. She is also survived by her youngest brother, Terry Alderman.
A service will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025, with visitation at 1 pm and service at 2 pm, at Bethel Baptist Church, 3125 W. Socrum Loop Road, Lakeland, FL 33810.
