Dorothy P. Gallupe Valley and Dwight E. Valley, Sr.
Lakeland, FL – Dorothy Pauline Gallupe Valley, 88 died on April 30, 2021. Her husband of 68 years, Dwight E. Valley, Sr., 90 died on May 19, 2021. Both passed away peacefully under the loving care of family & Good Shepherd Hospice.
Dorothy Valley was born on April 7, 1933 in Mars Hill, ME. She was predeceased by her parents Lena and Bernard Gallupe, brothers Bernard Gallupe, Jr., Wallace Gallupe, and Sisters Marilyn (Donald) Sperry, Esther Akeley, and Rebecca Gordon. She is survived by Sisters Laura (Duane) Valley, Sylvia (Robert) Churchill, and Brother Larry (Linda) Gallupe. Dorothy was a 1975 graduate of Saint Vincent’s School of Nursing in Staten Island, New York and worked as a Registered Nurse in New Jersey before retirement.
Dwight Valley was born on November 7, 1930 in Washburn, ME. He was predeceased by his parents Eunice Jane Fuller Valley Shaw and father Joel Valley, Brothers Edwin (Helen) Valley, Chester (Mary) Valley, and Sisters Edna (Leon) Hersey, and Almeida (Leon) Elliot. He is survived by sisters Dorothy (Atwood) Sperrey and Naida (Vaughn) Parks. A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Dwight retired from F.W. Woolworth Co., and then owned and operated the Ben Franklin Store in Sussex, NJ for 30 years before retiring to Lakeland, FL.
They were greatly loved by their children Dwight E. (Buddy) Valley, Jr. and Lee-Anna Jane (Cliff) Catullo, Grandchildren Lorrie (Josh) Ward, Heather B. Palecek, Paul E. (Lindsay) Palecek, Jr., Thomas J. Catullo & Sydney Koestoyo, and Great Grandchildren Gryffin Valley Ward and Brooke Arwen Palecek.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, May 24 at 11:00am at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home, 3350 Mall Hill Drive, Lakeland, FL., Reverend Jon Betz of Restoration Fellowship Church officiating. Interment at Bushnell National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
