Dorothy "Dot" Crosby's Obituary
LAKELAND - Dorothy 'Dot' Crosby completed her journey here on earth November 25th, 2015. She fought a courageous yearlong battle with breast cancer and while the cancer took her body, it never took her humor, love, compassion and wit. Dot was born on December 17, 1966, and was a lifelong resident of Lakeland. She was a devoted wife, mother, 'sissy,' aunt, cousin and friend. Dot is survived by her husband of 29 years, Terry Crosby, son Tyler Crosby (Amanda), daughter Tory Crosby and a multitude of loving friends and extended family. She is predeceased by her mother Margaret Campbell. Dot was a graduate of USF and was an ARNP in Dermatology at the Watson Clinic, where she served patients for over 27 years. Dot blessed her family, friends and patients with her generosity, love, understanding and infectious wit. Dot never met a stranger; she accepted everyone equally and touched the lives of countless people that came across her path. Dot was all about relationships and some who genuinely cared about people and making them feel at ease and accepted. She had a gentle, loving sense of humor and a zest for life. She loved new experiences from riding on a Harley to standing on a glacier in Alaska, zip lining in Georgia, skydiving, SCUBA diving, or just enjoying a glass of wine on the porch of a cabin in Blue Ridge. Dot lived life to the fullest and all without making anyone feel left out or left behind. She was one in a million and never to be forgotten. Dot's husband, Terry, wishes to express his deepest and heartfelt gratitude to the 'team' of caregivers, friends and family who supported Dot during her battle with cancer and helped him make it possible for her to stay in the comfort of her home until her passing. A celebration of her life is planned for Saturday December 5, 2015, at First Baptist Church at the Mall, 1010 E. Memorial Blvd., Lakeland, FL. The family will receive guests at 9:00 with services to follow at 10:00 a.m. It was Dot's wish that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to the American Cancer Society , to aid their fight against all types of cancer.
