Dorothy Lundahl Boyer, 77
Lakeland - Dorothy Lundahl Boyer was born February 9, 1938, in Warren, PA, and entered heaven on December 25, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Boyer, parents Elmer and Dorothea Lundahl, and brother Kenneth Lundahl. She is survived by her children Nanette and Eric of Lakeland, step-son Rick Boyer of Pittsburgh, PA, her sister Barbara Reese, of Sun City Center, FL, and brother Richard Lundahl of Meadville, PA, and many extended family. Dorothy graduated from Warren High School, Warren, PA, in 1956, and graduated from Grove City College, Grove City, PA, in 1960 with a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce. She loved playing basketball and being a majorette! She was involved in ministry and social work prior to working at the University of Pittsburgh as an Assistant to the Dean of the Graduate School of International and Public Affairs. She worked there until she got married in 1971. She loved ice skating, painting, photography, and traveling across the United States with her children. She was an intellectual who thrived on a great conversation about current affairs, history, free enterprise economics, and was a woman of faith who remained faithful to her LORD and Savior Jesus Christ even through her trials and tribulations. Services will be held Wednesday at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, 3504 Mt. Tabor Rd, Lakeland, FL 33810. Visitation will be at 10 AM, service at 10:30 and internment following the service. In lieu of flowers, which fade, we ask that a donation be made in her honor to a ministry that was dear to her heart, which has eternal benefits, Freedom Village USA, Box 24 Lakemont, NY 14857
