Donald "Scott" Illgen's Obituary
Donald “Scott” Illgen, born August 15,1955, passed peacefully on March 5, 2024.
Scott is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Illgen; daughter, Amy Lynn Illgen; and grandson, Jay Zell Loyd Jr, all of Lakeland, Fl. Scott is also survived by his uncle, Frank Jones of Vero Beach, his brother David Illgen of Lakeland, and his sister, Debra Illgen Clark of St. Augustine, Fl.
Scotty (as he was known to those who loved him) leaves a legacy of numerous friends, family, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Scott is preceded in death by his grandparents, Wallace A. and Mary Illgen and Joseph H. and Geneva Jones, his parents, Edward R. and Margaret Jones Illgen.
He was a member of Millwrights Local 1000 in Tampa, Fl for 35 years, rising to the rank of superintendent.
Scott was an avid outdoorsman, hunter, fisherman and hounds man. He was happiest in the woods with his dogs and his friends.
Our world is a little less bright without our husband, father, grandfather, brother and dear friend. You will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held from 3-4:00PM, with service to follow at 4:00 PM, on Friday, March 22,2024 at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home, Serenity Gardens at 3350 Mall Hill Rd. Lakeland, Fl. 33810. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to American Cancer Society.
