Diana Marie Lanning's Obituary
Diana Marie Lanning of Lakeland, FL, passed away on February 13, 2024, at the age of 65. She was born in 1958 in McClellandtown, PA and moved to Lakeland 51 years ago at the age of 14. Diana's greatest accomplishment in life was her family. She loved caring for others and loved her time working as a home care nurse. Diana loved all animals especially cats and dogs, she would feed and care for any stray that came her way. Upon entering her home, you could see the love she had for her family and friends by all the pictures sitting around that she had collected through the years. She also enjoyed taking pictures anytime she was around family to have for memories. Diana had a passion for collecting lighthouses and cat figurines.
Diana is survived by her son Harold Lanning III (Melissa), grandson Harold IV, granddaughter Jeanie, her sisters Barbara Smith, Anne Staley (George), nieces Toni Morris (Adam), Teri K., great nephew's Levi Seger and Gabe, brothers James Savage, John Byers, Robert Chopper Byers, William Screech Byers, multiple nieces and nephews, and her longtime partner of 20 years, Loron Brunk.
Diana was preceded in death by her father Orthnile Byers and mother Dorothy Savage, brother's Raymond Smoke Byers, Glenn P.D. Byers, Allen Byers, Orthnile Hawk Byers, and her brother-in-law Bobby Smith (Barbara).
Family will be holding a private memorial service at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to honor her love for strays by asking for donations to be made to SPCA of Lakeland or Humane Society Polk County in Memory of Diana.
