Dennis Faas' Obituary
Our hearts hold a sadness that we lay to rest, Dennis Faas. He was our Son, Brother, and Uncle. He passed on January 16, 2023 at the age of 59. He was born in Goshen, New York on August 5, 1963.
Dennis resided in Lakeland since early childhood. In his early years, one of his passions was skateboarding and was the real definition of a skateboarder before it was truly on the scene. He was even featured in a pictorial in the Lakeland Ledger showing his love for the sport. Dennis also enjoyed riding his Kawasaki Z1200 and trips to the beach or State Fair and Carnivals.
Dennis had an undeniable ability to reinvent, rework, rewire, or rebuild anything he set his mind to. He always had uncanny “Mad Scientist” skills. Dennis’ abilities were truly never tapped to their potential.
Dennis loved dogs and was preceded in death by his constant companion, his faithful German Shepard “Tubby”. She was a huge stabilizer in his life and a true furry best friend. His personality was complex and at times was deemed to be a quiet man, yet he never met a stranger. He had a wealth of information and would share it with you, if you gave him the chance.
Unfortunately, his later years were riddled with many struggles related to an accident that eventually took its toll. Dennis was taken from us way too soon, but we know that his suffering is now set aside. He labored through so many years of health struggles and battles. He navigated a difficult path that was chaotic and challenging. Dennis is now at peace and is guided in heaven by his ever-caring Mother, Lynn Hirsch, who preceded him in death. May they both know and feel our love and know that their loss in our lives has notched us all with an unexplainable sadness and grief, yet we know we will forever feel their heavenly guidance as they guard and protect us all.
Dennis is survived by his Father, Ellis Hirsch. His Brothers, Mike, Tom, and James Faas. His Sisters, Laurie Frean and Jen Riffle. His Nieces and Nephews; Taylor, Ryan, and Brianne Faas, Charli Shea Jervis, Joey and Jared Schley.
His ashes will be taken to Goshen New York.
