Delores Mouton's Obituary
Delores Rita Templet Mouton passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at the age of 88. She was born the second child of seven in Port Allen, Louisiana on the 4th day of April, 1934. She is preceded in death by her husband, Rene A. Mouton and her parents, Mildred Templet Comeaux and Joseph Lance Templet.
Delores was a dedicated wife and caring mother who always put everyone ahead of herself. Her generosity helped many friends and her family. She always found humor in every situation. Her quick wit and lighthearted attitude was always a joy. She was known as the prankster of the family and was the instigator of many shenanigans.
She enjoyed photography in her younger years taking many family photos that are now so cherished by siblings and their families today. Many times she was told to “put that camera away” an “stop taking so many pictures”. Thankfully she did not listen and the memories remain. She enjoyed traveling, fishing, camping, the beach, and Cajun cooking. She was an accomplished bowler and made many friends along the way. She loved the LSU Tigers and showed her competitive spirit when they played.
Delores, known to family as “Dubby” married her childhood friend who became the love of her life, the late Rene (Buddy) Mouton (2008). To her, family was her world. She and Rene moved to Florida in 1969 where they raised their family. She enjoyed family gatherings and made it a priority to return to Louisiana for family reunions so that her children and grandchildren would know their relatives and learn about family history and culture.
She is survived by her six children Kenneth Mouton (Sarah), Karen McCarthy (Mike), Donna Bell, Debra Walters, Brenda Slappey (Frankie), and Bryan Mouton. Grandchildren Jean Mouton, Gordy Bell (Megan), Grady Bell (Emily), Aaron “Boomer” Walters (Liz), Jacklyn Douglas, Sydney Sherman, Alanna Mouton, step grandchildren Allison McCarthy and Brendan McCarthy (Margorie) and great grandchildren Hendrix Hamlin and Evelyn Walters. Sisters Marelle Normand, Anna Belle Martinez, Gayle Willis and Christine Leblanc and brothers Joseph Templet and Warren Templet
