Delores S. Faught's Obituary
Delores S. Faught
June 17, 1942 – March 29, 2023
Indian Rocks Beach, FL – Delores Faught, 80, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2023.
Delores was born in Lakeland, FL on June 17, 1942 and spent most of her life as a resident of the Lakeland/Winter Haven area. Along with her husband, Max Faught, she later relocated to Indian Rocks Beach, FL where she became an active member of the community as well as the Reflections on the Gulf Home Owners Association. As a devoted resident, she served on various committees and on the Board of Directors.
Delores was a graduate of Kathleen Senior High School and enjoyed a prestigious 37 1/2 year career with Publix Supermarkets. She rose from the ranks of cashier at the age of sixteen to a highly respected Administrative Assistant for the Vice President, President and Chairman of the Board.
Delores was an avid world-wide traveler and loved sharing stories and pictures of her adventures with her family members and friends. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking for her many friends and frequenting “The Beau Rivage” in Biloxi. In addition, she took great joy in pampering two of her most cherished family members – Sandi Lou and Lucy (her two four-legged canine children).
Delores was beloved by everyone who had the great fortune to know her. She was a kind, compassionate, loving and graceful soul who brightened the lives of those who knew her over time as well as people she may have just met. To her children and grandchildren, she was the matriarch who led by example, provided timely advice and the rock we leaned on in times of need.
Delores is survived by her sons, Stephen Driggers of Auburndale, FL (daughter-in-law Jennifer), Gregory Faught of Enterprise, AL (daughter-in-law Helen) and grandchildren, Morgan Smith, Austin Driggers, Emily Faught, Max Faught and William Faught.
A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, April 29th at 1:00 PM at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home, 1727 Bartow Rd, Lakeland, FL. For those who cannot attend in person, the service may be viewed via live stream. http://www.gentry-morrison.com/obituaries/permalink/10962159/LTWebcast
