Delilah Grimes Ballard, born on December 10, 1944, in Quanah, Texas, and passed away peacefully on May 16, 2025, in Lakeland, Florida.
Delilah was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Larry Ballard of Lakeland, Florida. Larry loved her deeply, and their time together was filled with devotion and care.
Delilah is survived by her devoted daughters, Lisa Brown Bell and Kathy (Buffy) Brown Thompson, her stepdaughters Lisa and Kelley. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Paul, Tommy, Brittany, Tiffany, Michael, Jordan, Dakota, Cheyenne, Abigail, Ashlyn, Taylor, Kaitlyn, Bailey, and Jacob. She had 21 great grandchildren. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she treasured every moment spent with them.
Delilah was the beloved daughter of O.T. and Ruby Grimes.
She was raised in Bowling Green, Florida, alongside her four siblings. She was preceded in death by her sisters Evelyn and Patsy and her brother Fred Grimes. She is survived by her brother Tommy Grimes of Fort Meade, Florida, and his wife Jan and their children along with many nieces and nephews.
Delilah spent many years working in banking in both Wauchula and Bartow, Florida. Her dedication, professionalism, and kindness were valued by coworkers and customers alike. She was also known for her wonderful sense of humor, often bringing laughter and joy to those around her.
Above all, Delilah loved Jesus. Her faith was a constant source of strength and peace in her life, and she lived with a quiet confidence rooted in that love.
