I don't even know where to start. You were and always will be the love of my life. My heart is so broken I fear it will never be the same. For 45 years you were by my side. We did everything together, went everywhere together. We were best friends. How do I go on without you? The Bible says that 2 that marry shall become one. That was definitely true for us. Now I feel so incomplete. Lost. Empty. You were the best husband and dad any woman could ask for. You were such an honest, loving, giving man, a true Christian. You took such good care of your family and you helped so many others whenever you could. You were a man of your word, you kept your promises. Were you perfect? You were for us. You used the gift of music that God gave you to affect the lives of so many others. You were a good son, brother, uncle, grandpa and brother in law and father in law. Everyone in our family loved you very much. You were looked up to and respected, and needed by all of us. I know you are now at peace, no pain, no fear, no sorrow. I know you are rejoicing in Heaven and I will see you again soon. I love you 3000 and miss you even more.

I sure do miss you and I never did get to properly tell you how much I appreciate you. I'm pretty sure I didn't exactly know how much myself, until it was too late. I know that no one is without fault, but from my point of view, you were pretty close. I've never met anyone as genuinely caring as you. You made an impact on so many lives, family, friends, co workers, brothers and sisters at church, even people at your favorite restaurants, and the list goes on. You definitely will not be forgotten.
When I was just a young boy, you eagerly took on the roll of Daddy to me without a second thought, even though you didn't have to. You always introduced me as your son, not step son. You made sure that we never did without, even in the toughest of times. You never stopped loving me and being proud of me even when I took you for granted.
You set such a great example of a Dad and role model for me. You set the bar so high. I only wish that I could have told you just how much I love and appreciate you. God couldn't have picked a better Dad for me. It's me that is proud of you Dad.

Dear Kestner Family,
Vickie and I were so sorry to learn of Del's passing. We had so hoped and prayed that he'd get well and return to doing the things he so loved to do, but as we all know there comes a time when even that 'just one more day' we had so wanted is just not to be. And, as we as Christians know, God's still in charge, so it must have just been time for Del to go Home. Knowing so doesn't lessen our pain, but at least we know that Del's pain and suffering is over and he's where such pain, suffering and sorrow no longer exist. I'm sure he's still busy right now shaking hands with old friends and hugging family members that have been waiting to see him again. Our prayers are now with you and your family. May God heal the hurt he knows you're feeling and prepare us all for that time he too calls us Home for our great Homecoming.
