Dean George Fulton, 99
Lakeland - Dean George Fulton, 99, of Lakeland Florida died (Thursday) April 20th at his home. He was born August 13th, 1917 in Champaign, Illinois to William G. Fulton and Naomi Price Fulton. He married Louis Dae Farner August 1941. Together they had 3 sons Ron, Tom and Bill.
Dean was preceded in death by brothers Dale, Glenn and sister Idabelle. Also preceding him were sons Ron and Tom and his wife of 54 years, Louise. Dean remarried in 1997 to Helen who passed away in 1997. In 1998, Dean married Joyce and she survives. Also surviving are son Bill (Ellen), Grandsons Bill (Emily), Dean (Jennifer) and Granddaughters Amy (Stagg) Greene, Tommi Fulton, Debra Fulton, Amy (Shawn) Askins and many great grandkids and great great grandkids. Dean is also survived by stepsons, Robert Sullivan, Ron Sullivan and John Pepper and stepdaughters, Beverly Sullivan and Wendy Turpin.
Dean was a graduate of Villa Grove High School and the University of Illinois. He taught for a short period at Longview, Illinois and then went to work for Terminix Company in the early 40's. He soon purchased the Danville, Illinois Terminix franchise in 1946. He also acquired part interest in the Peoria, Illinois franchise. In 1954, Dean purchased the Evansville Indiana Terminix franchise and moved to Evansville. At one time, he had over 10 franchises and was selected in 1971 for the Terminix Hall of Fame. Upon the death of son, Ron, in 1984, Dean sold all his interests in Terminix and moved to Florida. His greatest hobby was golf and he played several times per week with his final round coming at the age of 95. He shot his age many times and had 2 holes in one. Dean was a part of the greatest generation as he was a proud officer in the Army during WWll.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home 1727 Bartow Road, Lakeland, FL. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at Lakeland Memorial Gardens.
