I first met David about 35 years ago while working at Sears at Sears-town, Lakeland. He worked security and we quickly became friends. He was a strong support for me as I had relocated to Lakeland from New Mexico. We were able to make some great memories together in that time. We later went our separate ways as "life happened" to each of us and lost contact for about 30 years. I believe we were brought back together by Divine appointment when I learned he was in the hospital. We quickly made up for lost time and we visited as often as we could. In the past year we became closer than brothers and he was truly an inspiration to me. David was very strong in his faith and always found reason to give thanks to God. David, you will be missed and while I'm hurting now, I am grateful that you are no longer suffering and are at home and at peace. I thank God that we were able to see each other before your homecoming and got closure with you. What a blessing you have been, this is not good-bye, but rather, until we meet again. I love you, brother.
