David Dean Hiatt's Obituary
David Dean Hiatt went home to be with the Lord on December 4, 2025, from complications of cancer. He was 70 years old.
David was born in Lakeland, FL on April 15, 1955, to Richard and Margaret Hiatt. In 1973, he graduated from Lakeland Senior High where he excelled in track. He completed a business degree from Polk Community College.
Following graduation, David started his career in banking where he became a branch manager for First Federal of Winter Haven. With his knack for finance and business management, David left banking to become a partner and joint owner of Ross of Florida, a local manufacturing company. He and his partner closed the business and retired in 2000.
David was a member of Victory Church in Lakeland and attended regularly with his family until his health began to fail from the cancer progression.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Margaret Hiatt, and his beloved granddaughter Tinley.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Susan Harmon Hiatt and his children, Jennifer Pszonek (Jonathan) and James Hiatt (April) each of Lakeland; his beloved grandchildren Bryce, Connor, Eli, and Raelyn, each of Lakeland. He is survived by his sister, Jan Hancock of Atlanta, GA, as well.
The family is deeply grateful for the loving care of Moffitt Cancer Center and Good Shepherd Hospice.
A Graveside Service will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 19, at Serenity Gardens Cemetery of Gentry Morrison, 3350 Mall Hill Drive, Lakeland, FL, 33810, with Pastor Jeff Sellers officiating.
