Cynthia W. Gaudette's Obituary
Cynthia W. Gaudette, age 78, passed away Monday, May 19, 2025, in Lakeland, Florida.
Born on January 31, 1947, in Nashua, New Hampshire, Cindy was the daughter of Richard S. and Thurlo A. (Rice) Dow. Though she was born in New Hampshire, she was raised in the nearby town of Pepperell, Massachusetts.
While working at a local pharmacy, Cindy met the love of her life, George Gaudette. They married on April 23, 1966, and together built a life full of love and devotion. Cindy held many roles over the years—from bank teller to concierge—but found great success and fulfillment in her most recent career in real estate before retiring.
In 1972, Cindy and her family moved to Lakeland, where she would call home for the remainder of her life. She was known for her kind spirit, generous heart, and unwavering dedication to helping others. Cindy was an avid volunteer, lending her time and energy to organizations such as Lakeland Regional Health, the SPCA, and the Special Olympics.
Cindy found joy in the simple pleasures—visiting the casino, playing BINGO, golfing, and preparing delicious meals for those she loved. Above all, she was a devoted and loving mother. In addition to raising her three daughters, Cindy opened her heart and home to numerous foster children and kittens, offering them care and compassion without hesitation.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband George, and her parents, Richard and Thurlo Dow.
Cindy is survived by her daughters, Gayle Cameron, Michelle (Brad) Miller, and Johanne (Kenny) Grizzle; her sister, Diane (Bill) Lamothe; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A funeral service to honor Cindy’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 21, at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home, Serenity Gardens Chapel, 3350 Mall Hill Drive, Lakeland, FL 33810.
