Cynthia Allen Benedict's Obituary
Cynthia L Benedict
Cindy was born in Big Spring, Texas on February 15th, 1962, to parents Joan Colford and Air Force veteran Sanford Briggs. They moved to Paxton, Illinois where she attended grade school through high school. It was there that her love of animals (especially horses) began. After moving to Florida with her family at 18 years old, she earned her nursing certificate, and worked in a nursing home (The Carpenters) for 13 years. From there she was the nurse at Kathleen High School in Lakeland before spending the last ten years of her career as the school nurse at Griffin Elementary School.
Cindy’s never-wavering Christian faith has been contagious and ever-deepening, and she has passed that on to her daughter Ally and grandson Casey, along with many of the loved ones around her. Eleven years ago, she met the love of her life, David Benedict. They shared so many interests from their passion for travel, to camping and riding their motorcycles.
Cindy is survived by her loving husband, David Benedict, daughter Ally Allen and grandsons Casey Allen and Caleb, her brothers Charlie and Steven Briggs, and sister Lori and husband John, and nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father Sanford Briggs, mother Joan and brother Ralph Briggs.
