Clifford W. Beeman Jr.'s Obituary
Clifford W. Beeman Jr., age 100, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2026, in Lakeland, Florida. He was born on November 12, 1925, in Stratford, Connecticut, to Evelyn (Schrader) Beeman and Clifford Wesley Beeman Sr. His twin brother, Howard, was his trusted companion throughout his childhood in Connecticut.
Cliff proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II at duty stations in Earle,New Jersey, Fort Pierce, Florida and on board the U.S.S. Mendocino, an attack transport ship in the Pacific Theater. In recognition of his service, he was awarded the Asiatic-Pacific Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon, European Theater Medal, Victory Medal, and the American Theater Medal. He remained deeply proud of his military service throughout his life.
Following his service, Cliff worked as a truck driver for the New England Teamsters and Trucking Industry. He dedicated himself to his career until his retirement in 1984. In retirement, he worked as a lawn mower repairman, and enjoyed many hobbies like working with stained glass, ceramics, and card games.
He later moved to Hendersonville, Tennessee, where he met the love of his life, Ruby. The two were married on February 19, 2012, and shared many happy years together. They eventually moved to Lakeland, Florida where Cliff could be found riding his scooter around the Fountainview park, visiting his many friends with his beloved dog, Sophie by his side.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ruby; his daughters, Linda MaGee (John) and Carol Bunting (Bob); Step children Kelly Wild (Brian), Brenda Jablonski (Terry), and Dale Shrewsbury ( Sherie); Grandchildren, Ryan and Patrick Magee, Kelsey Fachini, Alex and Jessica Shrewsbury, Steven Jablonski, Brittany Reed, Aimee Valencia and many friends who will miss his kindness, humor, and gentle presence.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Fountainview Estates Clubhouse.
