CLARENCE LEROY LEITSCHUH, 83
LAKELAND - Mr. Clarence 'Slim' Leitschuh, 83, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2014, due to heart failure. He was born in New Douglas, IL, and moved to Lakeland from Frenchtown, NJ, in 1996. Slim attended First Baptist Church at The Mall. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, serving on the USS Laffey, and was a member of the V.F.W. Slim was an avid golfer. He liked to fish and hunt and loved to tell a story to anyone who listened. He is survived by his wife, Karen Leitschuh; daughters, Karen (Steve) Unglaub of Easton, PA, Debbie (Jon) Friedline of Boswell, PA, and Tracy (Paul) Machiesky of Milford, NJ; five grandchildren: Paige, Megan, Maggie, Michael and Scott; brothers, Loren & Delmar Leitschuh and sister, Ethel Korte, all from IL, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Bernice in 2009, his parents William and Clara Leitschuh; his sisters Rolean and Irma and his brother, Irvin. A celebration of life service will be held at 9:00am Saturday, 12/20 at Skyview Estates Clubhouse, 3003 Sego Lane, Lakeland, FL. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation , 1040 Woodcock Rd Suite 119, Orlando, FL 32803.
