Lakeland – Charles Clinton Rippy, 66, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 28, 2015. He was born in Champaign / Urbana, Illinois and moved to Florida 64 years ago. Chuck worked for many years as a air conditioning mechanic for Payne Air Conditioning. He served in the US Army during Vietnam from 1969 – 1972. Chuck was a member of First Baptist Church Midway of Plant City, FL. He also enjoyed going fishing and playing golf.
Chuck was preceded in death by his daughter, Kimberly Rippy. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Beverly; sons, Steven (Katie) Rippy of Corinth, MS, Michael (Jenifer) Rippy of Plant City, FL; daughter, Allison Pate of Lakeland; brother, Ronnie Rippy of Live Oak, FL; sister, Janice Griffin of Orlando, FL; grandchildren, Jessica Holley, Joshua Thompson, Abigail Rippy, Ethan Rippy, Ava Rippy, Kaylee Pate, Adalyne Rippy and Isley Rippy; great grandson, Brantlee Hendrick.
Visitation will be Tuesday (today) 6:00 – 8:00pm at Gentry Morrison Funeral Home, Southside Chapel, 1727 Bartow Rd. The funeral service will be conducted Wed., 10:00am in the funeral home chapel.
