Charles "Red" McDermott, 83
LAKELAND - Charles "Red" McDermott 83, of Lakeland, FL passed away on July 5, 2016 at his residence. He was born in Elmira, New York and moved to Lakeland in 1977 coming from Horseheads, New York. Red was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the U.S. Navy. In his working career he was a sheet metal worker and also served as shop foreman for several years. He was of the Methodist faith and had also been a Past Master of the Masonic Lodge. Red was a member of the VFW and the American Legion.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Barbara; sons, Mark Alan, Roger Charles and Larry B. McDermott; daughter, Rhonda Kay Luedeman; sixteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2016 from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at Gentry- Morrison Serenity Gardens Chapel with Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial at a later in Elmira, New York
