Charles O. “Mike” Crawford
Lakeland – Mr. Charles “Mike” Crawford, 83, passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at his residence. He was born in Lakeland and has been a lifelong resident of the area. Charles was a heavy equipment operator for Polk County for 38 years. He also enjoyed farming for many years. Charles was of Baptist faith. He was well known for his handmade buckskin cow whips and was a member of the Kathleen area Historical Society.
Charles is survived by his wife of 64+ years, Ruby Crawford; children, Ann (Rick) Wilt, Michael (Janet) Crawford, Ricky (Terri) Crawford; brother, John (Linda) Crawford; grandchildren, Charlie Wilt, Christy (Carson) Bassett, Ashley Crawford, Mary Crawford, Michelle (Jarrett) Crawford-Benavides; great grandchildren, Shelby, Garrett, Wyatt, Adrian, Hawken, Ellie, Crawford, Abigail, Benjamin and Izzy.
Visitation will be Friday, 12:00 noon with services beginning, 1:00pm at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home at Serenity Gardens, 3350 Mall Hill Dr. Interment will follow at Socrum Cemetery.
