Celia Bernice Costine Buchanon, 80
LAKELAND – Celia Bernice Costine Buchanon went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 22, 2018.
Bernice was born in Lakeland, FL on February 12, 1938 to the late Roscoe and Celia Costine. She was a very active member of Bethel Baptist Church. Bernice was proud to be a Homemaker, Florida Cracker, Rancher and a member of the Polk County Cattle Womens Association.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Marcus Lee Buchanon; son, Lee Buchanon; brothers, Elwin Costine and Nathan Platt; sister, Martha Lee Costine and many other family members. Bernice is survived by her sons, Lemuel Buchanon (Cheryl) and Danny Buchanon (Leslie); brother, Earlow Costine (Mary Helen); sisters, Hilda Combee (Terry) and Marie Smith (KJ); grandchildren, Ric Buchanon, Kaylon Buchanon-Mason (Roland), Bailey Buchanon and Blair Buchanon; great grandchildren, Miley Mason, Maylee Mason, Ric Buchanon, Jr., Maverick Buchanon and Marlee Mason.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 -11:00 am on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Bethel Baptist Church, 3125 West Socrum Loop. Lakeland, FL. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am. Interment at Socrum Cemetery
