Carolyn L. Gilbert
Mulberry- Carolyn L. Gilbert, 83, passed away January 27, 2023.
Carolyn was born in Perry, Florida on December 24, 1939, to her late mother Sallie Cook. She retired from Publix as a line leader in the bakery. She attended Ardella Baptist Church and Highlands Church of God in Lakeland. Carolyn enjoyed playing Bingo, going on vacations and travelling, but most of all, being with her family. She loved to cook and spend time with her family at her home, and you could often view photos from the family gatherings on her Facebook page.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her son, Ricky Gilbert. She is survived by her children, Jesse (Tammie) Gilbert, Debbie (Mark) Withey, Terry (Becky)Gilbert, Rex (Brenda) Gilbert and Tony (Rachel) Gilbert; grandchildren, Dee Dee, Lisa, Ricky, Kenny, Jessica, Justin, Khali, Tony, Ashton, Brian, Maddison, Collin and Ryliee; many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; sisters, Inez Dice, Nell Roath, Marilyn Blodgett and Catherine Anderson; as well as many extended family and friends that she claimed as family.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 2, 2023 from 10-11 am at Gentry Morrison Southside Chapel, 1727 Bartow Road, Lakeland, FL 33801. Funeral services will follow at 11 am at the funeral home, and interment will be at Socrum Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at 6 pm on Thursday, at Highlands Church of God, 2045 CR 540A Lakeland, FL 33813.
