Carolyn S. Cobb's Obituary
Carolyn S. Cobb, of Mulberry, Florida passed away peacefully surrounded in love by her family on August 13, 2023. She was Born on March 13, 1948 in Missoula, Montana and was soon adopted by her late parents, Anita and Arthur Schwenneker. Carolyn was raised in the Methodist Church where she found a deep relationship with God. This belief in God and in Family were the cornerstones of who Carolyn was.
Carolyn met her future husband, Rick Cobb, as a teenager after her family’s cross country move to Adelphi, Maryland. After graduating high school, she attended St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota where she majored in concert piano. This love of music was then passed down to her music students and shared with her church family, where she sang in the choir and played the piano each Sunday morning for the congregation.
Although Carolyn wore many professional hats, her heart thrived as a veterinary technician. She showed the same level of love and compassion for the animals in her care as she did for those around her. Carolyn was an avid reader, crocheter, and gardener. She never met a book she couldn’t finish, nor a plant that wouldn’t grow.
Carolyn is survived by her loving spouse of 52 years, Rick Cobb; younger sister, Lena Welker; her 4 children, Jake, Lucas (Jodi), Megan (Gene) and Morghan (Rick); 4 grandchildren, James Lee, Patricia Evelyn, Lucas Roy 2nd, and Emma Elizabeth; and two nephews, Ryan and Logan.
The world was a better place because she lived. Those who knew her were better people because of her love.
The family will be receiving visitors at a viewing on Thursday, August 17th from 6pm-8pm at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home – Southside Chapel, 1727 Bartow Road, Lakeland, FL 33801. Flowers are welcome.
