Carol M. Ward's Obituary
Carol McCartha Ward passed away June 17, 2021 losing her long battle with Ataxia. She was born on February 12, 1951 in Miami to Harry C. and Frances Sentell McCartha. She is survived by her husband of 44 years Richard L Ward, three step children, Theresa (Artie) Frieg, Karen Dice, and William L. Ward and seven grandchildren Nicholas (Angela) Botti, Kristina (Sean) Iiams, Heather Dice, Carolanne Dice, Jessie (Eric) Smith, Jennifer Dice and Stormee Schempf and five great grandchildren. Also, by her brother Robert Bland (Sheri) McCartha of Beaverton, OR and niece Lauren McCartha (Geoffrey) Hazelnut, and her beloved cousins Annette (Mike) Coury, Frances (Amos) Blakey and the rest of the Henderson cousins.
The family is grateful to her caregivers Jenifar Manning and Mirielle Charlemagne also to Nurse Julie McBride and Vitas Hospice.
Carol graduated from Miami Edison Senior High where she was a member of the Marching Cadets. She received her Associate’s degree from Santa Fe Community College and attended the University of Florida.
She began her career at Delta Airlines on September 25, 1972 as a reservations agent; promoted through the ranks to Reservations Manager and later was certified as a Human Resource Manager for the region. She retired in 2003 and moved with her husband to Lakeland FL to live near her mother.
There are no plans for services. Arrangements are being handled by Gentry Morrison. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Vitas Hospice, 6850 New Tampa Highway Suite 600
