Our dear mother Carol Roselyn Evinsky, sadly passed away in Lakeland, Florida on Friday, January 6, 2023 at the age of 85.
Carol was born in Niles, Ohio on December 1, 1937, to parents George and Laura (Butler) Williamson, and was the youngest of 14 children, all of whom have preceded her in death. Carol grew up in Ohio, graduating from Niles McKinley High School, where she was a majorette. She remained in Ohio until she married Peter Michael Evinsky on December 1, 1958 and the couple moved to Rochester, New York.
Carol was employed for 25 years at Walmart in Rochester. She loved working in the fabric department. A favorite of many team members at Walmart since she would gladly fill any open need and ensured to start coffee daily. Previous to Walmart she worked at Rochester Institute of Technology for over 10 years. After her husband’s passing on May 11, 1995, Carol remained in Rochester until September 2021 when she moved to Lakeland Florida.
Carol was of Catholic faith and had many hobbies. She loved to bake, and often participated in fundraisers for the Children’s Miracle Network by baking and selling brownies. She was an avid lover and drinker of coffee and enjoyed trips to the casino. She also loved card games, poker, bingo, and family game night. Carol is remembered by many as having a wonderful sense of humor.
Carol is survived by children Helen Rowe, Peter “Pete” J. Evinsky, and Lisa Privitere; 4 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Carol wished to be laid to rest in Ohio with her husband. Services for her will be held at a later date in the spring. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to the Children’s Miracle Network in her honor.
