CARL E. 'SMOKEY' WARREN, 86
Rural Mail Carrier
LAKELAND - Mr. Carl E. Warren, 86, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 23, 2015. He was born in Lakeland and has been a lifetime resident. Smokey retired from the U.S. Post Office as a rural mail carrier. He had a love of sports and spent many years volunteering as a coach of First Baptist Church men's softball, American Legion Post 4, Senior League and Pony League at Aldine Combee. Smokey was a member of First Baptist Church at The Mall.
He was preceded in death by daughter, Teresa Horn. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Shirley Warren; daughters, Beverly Rippy, Cathy Hill, Carla (Kevin) Morey, all of Lakeland; 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
A graveside service will be conducted on Wednesday, May 27, 2015, 10:00am at Oak Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice or First Baptist Church at The Mall - Library Fund.
