Cami Ortiz Massingill's Obituary
Cami Ortiz Massingill, 48, of Blanton, FL, died in a car accident on April 24, 2016. She was born in Tampa, FL to Linda Beasley Bowman and biological father, Richard Ortiz, Jr.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Henry Beasley and Elizabeth Nichols, her paternal grandparents, Richard and Ruby Ortiz. She is survived by her husband, Steve, of Blanton, two daughters; Elizabeth Gibson Romero (Randy) of New Port Richey, FL, Shelby Broughton (Adam) of Macon, GA, one son; Cayne Hollahan of Blanton, her beloved grandchildren; twins, Colton and Connor (4 years), Madisyn (19 months), Athan (5 years), her parents; Linda and Bobby Bowman of New Port Richey, and Richard Hope of San Antonio, FL, many nieces, nephews, especially her nephew, Adam, and niece, Kassi whom she was extremely close to, aunts, uncles, cousins, two sisters; Bridget Cowell (Mike), and Wendy Tuten; and her grandmother Arderth Hope of San Antonio, FL.
To know her would mean to see a heart the size of space, a gracious and generous person, a true love of the underdog. Her door was always open and a kind word was waiting. In life, it is rare to find a person who overcame so many obstacles to always find time to lift the spirit of a total stranger. Her love for people extended to the animal world where she found great happiness in her dogs; Sabel, Mable, Levi, Rebel, and Little Man. Rest in peace our dearest Cami. You will live in our hearts forever, until we meet again.
Memorial services will be conducted Fri. April 29th at 11am at Gentry-Morrison Southside Chapel, 1727 Bartow Rd. Lakeland, FL 33801. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Burial Park.
