C. EDWARD SPRANKLE, 79
LAKELAND - Ed Sprankle, 79, passed away on Monday, December 29, 2014, at his residence after battling cancer. Born on Jan. 8, 1935, in Woolrich, PA, to Chester S. and Ruth Packer Sprankle, he was 10 days shy of his 80th birthday. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Lou; daughter Alison (Jeremy) Grubb of Lock Haven, PA, daughter Megan (Jeffrey) Ouellet of Millersville, PA; and the two great loves of his life, his granddaughters Maren and Rhys Grubb. He was their Poppy. He spent his working career in the banking industry, retiring in 1990 as Sr. Vice President of Mellon Bank in Pittsburgh, PA. He was an avid traveler and golfer, having played well over 100 courses. He and his wife maintained a membership at Grasslands Golf and Country Club where they lived. They enjoyed a wide-range of friends there over the years. He was also a member of Clinton Country Club in Lock Haven, PA, for 69 years. Mr. Sprankle was a member of the Great Island Presbyterian Church in Lock Haven and attended the First Presbyterian Church in Lakeland. He is also survived by a brother Howard (Beverly) of Montoursville, PA; and a sister Eleanor Johnson of Brick, N.J. A sister, Marjorie Seitzer, preceded him.
