DR. BRUCE A. KOTTKE, 86
LAKELAND - Dr. Bruce A. Kottke, age 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, June 16th, 2015, in Lakeland, Florida. A devoted and much loved husband to Ivette, his wife of thirty-six years. Dr. Kottke was born in Blue Earth, Minnesota, graduated from the University of Minnesota Medical School, Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He practiced for over thirty-six years at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota, and after retiring, moved to Lakeland and worked at Watson Clinic and then Clark and Daughtrey Medical Group. He served in the U.S. Navy Amphibious Forces from 1955 to 1957. He held numerous awards and recognitions along his professional career. He was a member of many prestigious professional societies. He was certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and a fellow of the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Kottke was a constant and ardent researcher, concentrating his studies on Atherosclerosis Lipids. His most recent achievement was completing one thousand voluntary hours at Lakeland Volunteers in Medicine Center.
Services will be held at College Heights Methodist Church, located at 942 South Blvd., Lakeland, on Saturday, June 20th, 2015, at 10 a.m. After services you are invited to join the family at Grassland Golf and Country Club in Lakeland.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lakeland Volunteers in Medicine Center. Dr. Kottke will be sadly missed by his sons and the rest of his family in Minnesota and Puerto Rico.
