Beverly Stoffel Worthington's Obituary
Beverly Stoffel Worthington, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on April 11, 2025, a couple weeks short of her 91st birthday.
She was a graduate of the House of the Good Samaritan School of Nursing in Watertown, New York and worked at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center in Buffalo, New York. Moving to Florida in the 1960s, she worked as a registered nurse at Winter Haven Hospital and subsequently the Polk County Health Department from which she retired.
She was baptized as a Catholic. She was a member of Victory Church in Lakeland, Florida, where she worshipped for decades with her husband Melvin Worthington. Sunday service at Victory Church was very important to her, which she attended via YouTube when she became physically unable to go in person. Her interests included her family, reading, NASCAR, the Tampa Bay Bucs, the University of Florida Gators, and the British Royal Family.
Beverly was preceded in death by her husband Melvin in 2020 and nine of her twelve siblings. She will be deeply missed by her daughter Barbara Wallace (Gary) and son Peter Roe; granddaughter Cristina Roe-Guerra (Gilbert); stepchildren Roy Woods (Cathy), Terry Worthington (Marilyn), Chris Brinson (Horace), Ed Woods (Cindy), Michelle Ensslin (Jeff), Nikki Lovelady (James), and Kim Brooks; step grandchildren including Beatriz McDonald (Josh); and brother Tony Stoffel and sisters Anne Perrin and Viola Harris (Leon).
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at 11 am at Serenity Gardens Cemetery, Garden of Peace, 3350 Mall Hill Drive, Lakeland, FL 33810.
