Beulah Marie Benjamin's Obituary
Beulah (Bea) Maria Haynes Benjamin passed away peacefully on January 26, 2016. Born on August 26, 1922, she was the daughter of Fred and Jo Annie Haynes of South Royalton, Vermont.
Bea received her teaching certification from Johnson Normal School and taught grades 1-12 in Richford, VT. She subsequently joined the U.S. Navy (WAVES) in 1943 where she served in the Hydrographic Office in Suitland, MD, receiving several commendations and an Honorable Discharge prior to marrying Alvin Benjamin in 1945.
Bea and Al lived in New England for many years, where Bea worked in administration at the VA Center and was a department head at Sears Roebuck in Manchester, New Hampshire. She was a Member of the United Church in Jaffrey, New Hampshire. In 1976, she and Al moved to Winter Haven, Florida where they were owners of Benjamin Development Co. and Benjamin Marine.
Bea loved to dance, bowl, travel, golf and care for her plants, flowers and numerous pets. She was an avid reader, crossword puzzler and needlepointer. Her husband Al, sister Rebecca and son Michael, a Vietnam War veteran, preceded her in death. She is lovingly remembered by her son Curt and his wife Jo, daughter Tracy and her husband John, and grandchildren, Erin, Maggie, Chris, Jessica, Morgan, Matt and Tim, as well as by her great-grandchildren Ethan and Malin.
