Most of my memories of grandma are from when they visited during the busy holiday times: a swirl of food, activities, and family. When I was attending Bible school in Florida though I sometimes stayed at their house during Spring break and got to have them all to myself.
One morning at their place grandma saw me trying to iron my clothes... ineffectively it seems because she promptly took over and showed me her method. She told me how she learned the skill ironing for a local shop when she was young.
I can never forget your laugh, your vigor, and your virtue... Thank you, grandma, for all you are to this family.
My favorite memory of Grandma mintle was the two of us playing checkers together. She would always let me win. But she taught me how to win as well. I always admired her joy and enthusiasm whenever she would visit. She was definitely a positive influence in my life. I regret that we didn't get to spend more time together living away all these years. I know she's in a better place and we will all see her again one day. Love you Grandma!
