Bertha Lee Meeks' Obituary
Bertha Lee Meeks, 93, of Valrico, Florida passed away in Tampa on Tuesday, July 12th.
She is survived by her daughter, Gloria Whitman and her husband James Whitman. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, William Meeks and her daughter Patricia Hardt. She is also survived by six grandchildren, their spouses, and numerous great grandchildren. Survivors are Deenna King (Dan), Greg Terwilliger (Kelly), Tina Whitman, Mark Terwilliger, Keith Terwilliger (Debbie), and Tiki Fulkerson (Todd).
Bertha was born in Lakeland, Florida on March 8th, 1929. She spent many years working as a dental hygienist. Bertha was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She was an excellent cook, and was especially known for her hamburgers, coleslaw, and banana pudding. She always enjoyed having her friends come by and visit with her at her condo. She will be united in Heaven with her loving husband and daughter. Bertha was loved by all and will be deeply missed.
Visitation will be Monday, July 18th from 10:30 to 11:00 am at Gentry-Morrison Southside Chapel located at 1727 Bartow Road, Lakeland, Florida, followed by an 11:00 AM service. Interment will be at Oak Hill Burial Park.
