Bernardo "Tony" Abetrani Sr.'s Obituary
Bernardo Antonio “Tony” Abetrani, Sr.
Frostproof – Bernardo Antonio “Tony” Abetrani, Sr., 71, passed away February 5, 2023.
Tony was born in Havana, Cuba on May 20, 1951, and moved to Central Florida from the Bronx 30 years ago. He served in the U.S. Army from 1971-1973, and was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
Tony had a wide variety of interests, from fishing to collecting firearms. His love of baseball included being a die hard New York Mets fan. He basically built a small baseball team with his family. With his wife, kids, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, he relished spending time together. He made a point of using his hands to construct, fix, and create beautiful things. He delighted in making others laugh and grin with his jokes. He cherished creating memories with his family. He used each chance to leave a lasting impression on those around him. Everyone turned to him for opinions, counsel, and direction, and he was never hesitant to share his experience. He was always available to assist with everything that was required of him, whether it was installing floors, lights, or entire bathrooms - he was even available for tele-plumbing services. His education came from life, and he made good use of it. He worked to ensure that his family was taken care of and knew his love - even tough love. He was proud of his family and spoke highly of all of them. One gave rise to many. He kept adding areas for his wife and himself to enjoy in his house as he neared the end of his life, he found joy in reconnecting with family he had plans of one day meeting. He enjoyed spending time with his five children and their spouses, 19 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. He lived to express his love and devotion to his wife of more than 50 years.
