Benedicto De La Rosa's Obituary
Benedicto Delarosa was born December 28,1938, in the beautiful countryside of the Dominican Republic. He was a loyal Yankees fan. A life well lived with so many peaks and valleys. He left this earth surrounded by those that loved him unconditionally on April 17, 2024. We find solace in believing that he was escorted through the doors of Heaven, as he has earned his wings. He was the blessed child of Aridio De La Rosa and Fredesvinda Rodriguez, and brother to several siblings.
Benedicto met the love of his life 56 years ago. A sweet story of love, companionship and care. Together they formed a family and had 2 children. His handwork and dedication allowed for him to open his own business and several grocery stores throughout Long Island, New York. He always had several income generating jobs to help support and provide for his family. Benedicto was a religious family man who's soft and kind spirit, touched everyone he encountered. He will always be remembered as a wonderful father, husband, grandfather and godfather. A warrior that never let himself feel defeated, as he fought through many medical battles. Yet he always maintained a joyful spirit. We will always honor your outstanding bravery.
He is survived by his beloved wife Carmen, his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends who will carry his memory in their hearts forever.
A celebration of Benedicto’s life will be held at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home, Serenity Gardens Chapel, on Wednesday April 24, 2024. Visitation will be held from 1 - 2PM, with service to follow at 2:00 PM.
Rest in peace, Benedicto, we are in awe of who you are and the legacy you left behind.
We will look up & smile at every sweet reminder.
