Athena R. Raburn's Obituary
Athena Register Raburn was born on December 13, 1952, in Lake Wales, Florida, and entered the presence of the Lord on February 9, 2020, in Lakeland, Florida. She was 67 years of age.
Athena was an Ordained Minister of the Assemblies of God and served as the Administrator of the Superintendents office for more than 20 years. She held an Associate Degree in Business Administration and Ordination.
Athena married Terry Raburn on the Fourth of July, 1974. They served as missionaries in Lebanon, as Youth Pastors and Senior Pastor of Mount Zion Assembly of God in Plant City. Then they were District Youth Directors of the Peninsular Florida District, followed by five years as the National Youth Ministries Director. Athena and Terry were elected to serve as the Superintendent of the Peninsular Florida District in 1996. She served the Superintendents office until her death.
Athena Raburn is survived by her husband, Terry, one brother, Steve Register and his wife Cindy of Anderson, South Carolina, two sisters, Regina Gagnon and her husband David of Bartow, Florida, and Angela Wheat and her husband David of Lakeland, Brother in Law Joel Raburn and his wife Anna Mette of Copenhagen, Denmark, and sister in law Caren Laursen and her husband Carl-Erik of Denmark.
Athena lived the Gospel and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
