Anthony Conrad Yanuzo's Obituary
Anthony "Tony" Conrad Yanuzo, Jr. unexpectedly passed away, surrounded by his family, on September 21, 2023, at the age of 77, in Lakeland, Florida, the city of his retirement. His quick witted sense of humor and jokes, that kept us chuckling throughout the years, will be greatly missed.
He was born to Anthony and Evelyn [Wampler] Yanuzo, on January 6, 1946. He grew up in Trafford, Pennsylvania, with three older sisters and an older brother. He did a short stint in the Navy, then headed to Evangel College, in Springfield, Missouri. After trying a few career paths, he settled in at the Lithonia Post Office, in Lithonia, Georgia, where he retired with 25 years of service.
Tony met the love of his life, Judy, while at college. Her picture made the school paper, because she was the last to register for classes that year. Upon seeing her picture, he told his buddies she was the girl he would marry. They married less than a year later. Together they raised twin daughters: Annie and Christy. They were happily married for 52 years.
Above all, Tony loved his Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. He and Judy made Jesus the center of their marriage and family, always. He attended and volunteered at Evangel Community Church, in Snellville, Georgia, for 38 years, and attended Strong Tower Presbyterian Church for 5 years, after moving to Florida.
Tony was predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Evelyn Yanuzo, and his sister, Nancy Yanuzo. He is survived by his wife, Judy Yanuzo; his daughters, Annie [Sean] Conant and Christy [Tim] Mitchell; his grandchildren, Liam Conant, Abigail Conant, Minnie Pearl Conant, and James Smith; his great grandchildren, Melanie Smith, Josiah Smith, and Kai Smith; his brother Donald [Sandy] Yanuzo; his sister, Kathleen Yanuzo; his sister Rosemary [Frank] Muziani; his nephew Aaron [Tiffany] Yanuzo; his niece April [Chris] Buttaccio; and his great niece, Evelyn Buttaccio.
A memorial service is scheduled for 10am on October 10, 2023 at the Parker Street Ministries (Strong Tower Church) building. The address is 719 N. Massachusetts Avenue, Lakeland, FL 33801. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Parker Street Ministries, in Lakeland, Florida.
