Of Lakeland, Florida. Formerly of Helena West Arkansas
Annie Nelson was born on Oct. 17, 1921 to Sammy Lee Hicks and Magalene Hubbard.
Her mother preceded her in death while she was an infant and her father passed years later.
She was raised by her Aunt Minnie L. Hubbard Brown and Uncle John Brown. She was the
Youngest of 8 children who all preceded her in death, Beatrice Hicks Partee, Millie Mae Hicks Franklin, Leroy Hicks, Willie Hicks, James Hicks, Johnny Hicks and Thomas Hicks.
Throughout the years of her unions in marriage to Willie Weaver, Sam Fields and Howard Nelson. They all preceded her in death along with children, Annetta M. Weaver, Wilma Jean Weaver, Nancy Mae Weaver Ford, Sarah L. Weaver Strickland, and Jerlene Fields. She was preceded in death by 5 grand-children and 5 great grand-children.
She attend St. Luke Elementary School in Marvell, Arkansas and Eliza Miller High School in West Helena, Arkansas. She was a homemaker with several jobs. Working on the farm, house-keeping and child-care. She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1939.
She leaves to cherish her memory 9 children: 3 sons, Govnor Weaver (Mary Jo) Helena W. Helena, AR, Lonnie Weaver Hot Springs, AR. Johnny Weaver (Naomi) Helena W. Helena, AR. 6 daughters, Mary W. Thomas (George) Laurel, MS. Catherine Beatrice W. Hill, Margaret Franklin (Willie) of Helena W. Helena, AR. Patricia W. Balom (Thomas), Unllenda Austin (Sylvester Sr.) of Lakeland, Fl., Minnie L. Brown (Wardell) Little Rock, AR. 41 grandchildren, 88 great grand-children, a host of great great grand-children, nieces, cousins and friends.
A visitation will be held on Thursday (today) from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home, 3350 Mall Hill Dr. Funeral services 1:00 pm on Friday, March 27, 2015 at Kingdom Hall Jehovah's Witnesses 2100 Providence Rd Lakeland, FL.
