Anne Marie Denise Marcelin Rousseau's Obituary
It is with great sadness and heartfelt love, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, Anne Marie Denise Marcelin Rousseau. She passed away on January 29, 2025, at the age of 77 in Lakeland, FL, surrounded by her children and loved ones.
In addition to being an extraordinary mother, wife, grandmother, sister, and aunt, Anne was a successful entrepreneur and an independent businesswoman who imparted to all her children the invaluable lessons of hard work and the importance of respecting others.
She possessed an unwavering strength and a deep passion for nurturing the less fortunate in Major, the community where she was born and raised near Les Cayes, Haiti.
Her renowned Pumpkin Soup Kitchen was a cherished favorite among the locals. Every January 1st, she generously provided meals, distributed envelopes, and offered clothing to those in need on what she considered her personal Thanksgiving Day.
Join the family at a visitation gathering from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, February 14, 2025, at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home, Serenity Gardens Chapel, located at 3350 Mall Hill Drive, Lakeland, FL 33810.
A Funeral Mass will be held the next day, Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 12:00 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, located at 118 West Lemon Street, Lakeland, FL 33801, followed by a procession to Serenity Gardens Cemetery at 3350 Mall Hill Drive, Lakeland, FL 33810, for burial.
Anne is survived by her children, Dr. Magalie Rousseau, Gregory Rousseau, and the twins Carla and Carlito Rousseau; her grandchildren, Andrew Weber; Kayden, Kelvyn, and Kyrie Rousseau; and her son and daughter-in-law, Zaskia Parilla Rousseau and Adrian Weber.
Her siblings: Paul Celin and Buteau Marcelin. Her sisters and brothers-in-law: Julnie Almeda Celin, Jeanine, Clarice and Martine Rousseau.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis Marcelin and Dieuvela Delinois; her husband, Roland Rousseau; her twin sister, Danielle Marcelin; her brother and sisters: Mayard Marcelin, Cedonise Marcelin, Yolande Marcelin, Leonie Marcelin Valiere; her grandparents, Cedone Marcelin and Olive Chery; her father-and-mother-in-law: Rodier Rousseau and Fizelia Marcelin; her sisters- and brothers-in-law: Das Valiere, Odette Maurice, Homere Rousseau, Sons Rousseau, Saurel Rousseau, Odette Favard; her closest cousins: Yves Ledan, Marie Rose Laurette Bazile, Marthe Bazile, Abelle Porsenna, Yvette Balince, as well as her best friend, Carmelle Remy St-Firmin.
We want to express our profound gratitude to all the families, friends, and colleagues for their thoughts, prayers, and support as we continue on our difficult and complex journey of grief.
