Ann S. Southard's Obituary
Ann Southard, age 87, died peacefully Saturday, June 3, 2017, surrounded by her family. Born in Rahway, New Jersey in 1929 to Charles and Mary Szmochko, she was predeceased by her husband, Fred, with whom she had four sons: Roger and Jane, Seffner; Wayne and Lauren, Bainbridge, Pa; Bruce and Barb, Dayton, N.J.; and Patrick and Jodi, Avenel, N.J.
Ann moved to Florida in 1978 and lived a short time in Clearwater and Hollywood, and finally moved to Lakeland. Her last residence was in Hawthorne Village of Brandon. She had 9 grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren who live in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. She retired from BeeGee Shrimp Co. (Tampa Maid) and spent 15 years as a volunteer with Lakeland Volunteers in Medicine (LVIM). She had a favorite pet lovebird named Lucky, who brought her great joy.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 820 Marcum Road in North Lakeland on Friday, 6/9/17 at 10:30am, where she was a member for many years. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to LifePath Hospice, c/o Melech Hospice House, 11125 N. 52nd Street, Temple Terrace, FL. 33617.
