Amos Denham, 83
LAKELAND – Mr. Amos Denham passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2016.
Amos was born on June 2, 1933 to Emmet and Carrie (West) Denham in Sylacauga, AL. He moved to Lakeland in 2002 from Louisville, KY. Amos was a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Army serving in Korea and Vietnam and retired after 25 years of service. During his service he was an Airborne Ranger, Instructor at NCO Academy and started the Recondo School in Schofield in Oahu, Hawaii. After his military career he also retired from Civil Service. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Foxwood Christian Fellowship.
His is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Shirley J. Denham; brothers, Bobby Denham and Bradford Denham; sisters, Patricia Sweat and Janice Mullis and sisters-in-law, Maria Thomas and Rhonda Lang. Amos is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 4th from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 PM at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home, 3350 Mall Hill Dr. Lakeland. A memorial service to follow at 1:00PM in the funeral home chapel.
The family would like to invite friends and neighbors to a reception immediately following the service at the Foxwood Village Clubhouse.
