Amanda L Martin's Obituary
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Amanda Martin, 56, of Lakeland, Florida, on July 25, 2025. Born in Lakeland, Florida, Amanda graduated from Kathleen High School in 1986 and earned Bachelor of Arts degrees from the USF and a master’s in counseling from Webster University. Amanda was a lifelong resident of Lakeland and grew up attending the Lake Wire Church of Go, with current membership at City Central Church.
In October of 1994, Amanda married the love of her life, Reggie Martin. In 2004, they welcomed the most precious gift God could bestow, their daughter, Lauren Olivia Martin, or Libbie, to many.
Amanda taught Chemistry and Physics for many years in High School, until she felt God moving her into her new path of becoming a Guidance Counselor. Through this journey, Amanda was able to share her faith, her commitment to Christ with many others with a profound impact.
Amanda had a great sense of humor, and you never knew when you were going to be gotten. She loved God and her family fiercely, encouraged and challenged you to go beyond, never settling for less.
She loved to travel, loved going to the Englewood area, the mountains, cruises, and much more. Her motto was, “Always have a bag packed”.
Amanda is survived by her husband and best friend, Reggie Martin, their daughter, Lauren Olivia Martin (Libbie), her mom, Sue Durrance, brothers Troy and Lance Durrance, and too many families and friends to list.
Amanda will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. But we rejoice together knowing that we who have accepted Christ as our personal savior will be reunited with her in Heaven to worship together at the feet of the one who paid it all, Jesus.
