Alvin “Benny” Crouse, 79
Lakeland – Mr. Alvin “Benny” Crouse went home to be with The Lord on Wednesday, January 30, 2019. He was born in Amonate, VA. and moved to Plant City, FL when he was 7 years old. Benny has been a resident of the area since then. He worked for the State of Florida Dept. of Transportation for 43 years. Benny was a member of First Baptist Church at The Mall in Lakeland.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kelly Crouse Oakley; Brothers, Paul and Allen Crouse. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Sharon Crouse; children, Kathy (Phillip) Whitehurst, Katrina Crouse, Kevin (Susan) Crouse; grandsons, Kyle (Laura) Crouse, Kendall (Megan) Crouse; great grandson, Kallan Crouse; brothers, Lewis, Jr, Ray and Dale Crouse; sister, Eunice Moore. He will also be sorely missed by canine companion Kimber, his devoted Havanese.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Feb. 5th, 6:00 – 8:00pm at Gentry Morrison Funeral Home, Southside Chapel, 1727 Bartow Rd. Lakeland, FL. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, 11:00 am at First Baptist Church at The Mall, 1010 E. Memorial Blvd. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Burial Park.
