Alexander Anderson's Obituary
Alexander Anderson (Alec) was born on January 9, 1922, in Bellshill, Scotland. He went to be with his beloved wife, Mary, on January 27, 2023. He lived a wonderful full life, happy to tell all his stories about living in Scotland, Canada, and eventually to Cleveland, Ohio where he became a proud United States citizen. He moved to Florida in 1971, where he remained until his passing. He married the love of his life, Mary (May} Blades, on October 26, 1950. Alec was often considered ornery, but he had a big heart and would give you the shirt off of his back if you needed it. He had an amazing singing voice. He was a long-time member of New Life Assembly of God in Lakeland, FL. He loved to talk about his years in the British Army, being an avid cyclist, and working as a fireman on the steam locomotives for the British Railway. His mind remained sharp, and his family relished all the stories and details he shared with the family and anyone who would listen. He lived his last few years with his niece, Janice {Arthur} Roy in Spring Hill, FL, where he loved to take care of their dogs, Roscoe and Roxie and work on puzzles. He is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Mary. He is survived by his niece, Janice {Arthur} Roy, sister-in-law, Agnes Fischer, and numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews.
