Alberto Torres Andújar's Obituary
Alberto Torres Andújar, a servant of God, beloved husband, proud father, and loving grandfather, went to meet Jesus on Monday, August 19, 2024, at the age of 64.
Alberto was one of seven sons born to Eugenio and Eliza (Andujar) Torres in El Condado, Puerto Rico on April 5, 1960. After living in Illinois for some time, he moved to Florida in 1999. He married the love of his life, Mavelie, on May 22, 2002.
Alberto faithfully and honorably served this nation for over 33 years, as a tech sergeant for the United States Air Force, including 21 years as a civilian with the Special Operations Command at MacDill Air Force Base. He also proudly held the title of Major Alberto Torres with Civil Air Patrol United States Air Force Auxiliary.
Though Alberto was fiercely devoted to serving his country, he was above all else a soldier for our Lord. Alberto was deeply devoted in his faith and a fervent servant of God.
He is preceded in death by brother Gadiel, his father Eugenio Torres, and niece Kalehila. He is survived by a family he dearly cherished, and in return they admired him and were so proud – his wife of over 22 years, Mavelie Vega-Torres; children Christopher A. Cordero and Natalie M. Cordero Vega; grandchildren Melanie J. Smith, Josiah Q. Smith, and Sadie Cordero; mother Eliza Andujar Torres; four brothers; and 17 nieces and nephews, as well as numerous friends and loved ones who knew and loved him throughout his church and community.
