I am so sad, I just sent him a message. I had no idea he had gone to Heavin. Ann, and family I am so sorry for the loss of such a wonderful soul and all around amazing person. My heart goes out to you all. i can only imagine what emptiness you must be suffering.
ive been thinking so much about him and just shared pictures of my first Husky with him on messenger. im sure he is aware the role he played in my becoming a momma Husky. Alan may be gone from this earth but will always live is my heart and soul. I will never forget what an amazing person he was. God Blesse

Mr. Fontana was the best teacher I’ve ever had! I remember him throwing life savers at us when we would get a question right, or when we would do something good in class. He was an amazing person, I used to go to him when I was in other grades for help with math and english. He will be missed.

Alan was a natural when it came to teaching. He was so creative and inspiring. Alan’s strength was being a reliable supportive friend and colleague. He always was there to help me with my technology problems. Even after I retired he was always available to help our Retired Teacher group get things done. I miss my friend! Prayers for Ann and the family at this difficult time.

Alan was very special! He loved my so and his k9 Max! He got a kick out of wearing the sleeve and having Max chase him. He was a caring and loving teacher making sure children were successful! We talked at my birthday celebration in June about how he loved teaching gifted classes! I know he has met my son in heaven and they are playing with Max!

When I left Purcell to move back to St. Petersburg, Mr. Fontana would send me an email often with just two words: "Come Back".
He was such a sweet man & wonderful teacher.
